T-Mobile and MetroPCS announced Monday the imminent arrival of two LG smartphones, including the Optimus L70 and the Optimus L90. The former arrives on MetroPCS today while the latter will hit T-Mobile on April 30. Both phones are part of LG’s L Series III family of smartphones that was introduced during this year’s Mobile World Congress show in February, but the specs have changed a little bit.
The L90, heading to T-Mobile, is equipped with a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and a 4.7-inch 960 x 540 display. However, while LG introduced it with an 8-megapixel camera, T-Mobile says its version has a 5-megapixel shooter. Assuming nothing else changed, it should still have 1GB of RAM, 8GB of expandable storage, Android 4.4 KitKat and LG’s unique Knock On and Knock Code features. T-Mobile will sell the L90 for $0 down with 24 monthly payments of $9.50.
Meanwhile, the L70 is heading to MetroPCS today. It has a 4.5-inch display with an 800 x 480-pixel resolution, a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, a 5-megapixel camera, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of storage, Android 4.4 KitKat and the same Knock On and Knock Code features available for the L90. It will set you back $49 after a $100 rebate, though after you pay for a second month of service you’re eligible for another $49 mail-in rebate.
