Target Increasing Discounts and Expanding Selection for Subscriptions

Target Subscriptions

It seems that Target is getting a little bit more serious about trying to take on Amazon’s Subscribe & Save service thanks to some updates to its own offering.

For some time now Amazon has been offering a Subscribe & Save program that allows you to order products at a discount so long as you have them ship to you on a regular basis. When you pass the threshold of five items shipping in the same month, you can receive a 15 percent discount on your products which adds up quickly.

This past September Target launched its own competitor in a limited fashion with only 200 products available, and a discount only if you paid for the order with a REDcard. It seems Target has liked the response and has expanded the service to now include over 1,500 products and 5 percent off the top while also retaining the 5 percent for REDcard users. Add in the free shipping and it looks even better.

While still not on par with Amazon’s program, it is definitely getting closer. Soon we’ll all wonder why we ever bothered going to retail stores or paying full retail for anything.
