Corning, the company behind the popular and super strong Gorilla Glass display technology, recently sent out invites to a press event on May 20, where the company promises it will unveil a new product. The event will take place at the firm’s testing labs in New York. During CES, Corning showed off its new¬†anti-microbial Gorilla Glass technology, so it’s possible we’ll get a look at the final product, or something else entirely.

Corning has had Apple has a partner in the past, though with Cupertino boosting production of sapphire it looks like the firm isn’t going to be providing its display solution for the iPhone 6. The company may take the time on May 20 to show off new products that may be more effective on smartphones than sapphire – at least if it wants to convince the world it still has the strongest displays on the market.

Corning will provide press with a tour of its product performance and reliability lab during the event. TechnoBuffalo should be on the scene, so we’ll bring you any news from the event.
