Xiaomi launched its latest flagship smartphone, the Mi3, last September in China, but it looks like the company may be on the verge of announcing a follow-up device with better specs and a fresh design. According to Chinese site MyDrivers, the Mi3S will be Xiaomi’s best phone yet.
The Mi3S will allegedly come equipped with all the latest hardware, including a 5-inch 1080p display, a Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor, 3GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, a 13-megapixel rear camera, and 4G capability. The device will run some version of Android OS, though not necessarily the most recent version.
Xiaomi’s next smartphone is sure to be a success. The company famously sold 100,000 copies of the Mi3 in its first 86 seconds on the market. Unfortunately the Chinese phone-maker is still focused on Asia exclusively, meaning the device won’t be available here in the U.S. unless you’re willing to go through the grey market to order one.
For now Xiaomi is slowly expanding beyond China’s borders, though perhaps the company will finally go global in time for the Mi4 smartphone, which is set to pack a 2K display according to MyDrivers.
