The Last of Us: Remastered Gets Its First Teaser Trailer

Fresh off Sony Computer Entertainment of America’s announcement earlier this week, the first teaser trailer for The Last of Us: Remastered has been released. We only get a very brief glimpse at how a 1080p version of Naughty Dog’s classic will look, but we like the direction things are headed.

The point of the remake isn’t necessarily to blow us away with next generation quality graphics, so you might not notice an immediate difference. The developers, however, get a nice opportunity to use higher resolution character models, upgraded textures and improved shadows and lighting. This is along the lines of the treatment Square Enix gave Tomb Raider, which already looked terrific on last generation consoles.

In addition to the upgraded graphics, the PlayStation 4 title will also give gamers an exclusive cast and director’s commentary for all in-game cinematics, and also include Naughty Dog’s single player DLC, Left Behind, and other major content releases. If you haven’t yet experienced what is regarded as one of the best games of all time, then the remastered version is obviously the best way to do so. I’ve played through the game more than once, but I’d still be willing to shell out the $60.

The Last of Us: Remastered is scheduled to hit this summer, though no exact date was shared. The game initially came out in June 2013, so perhaps we’ll see a release in the same month.
