The brand new HTC One (M8), which we called “the best smartphone, period,” is now available in AT&T and Sprint stores. If you remember, Verizon Wireless had an exclusive on in-store sales following the HTC One (M8) announcement late last month, even though it was still available online from the other wireless carriers. Starting tomorrow, T-Mobile will also sell the One (M8).
A recent report from Chitika suggested that the One (M7) sold better out of the gate, likely because it was largely available at retail right away. However, HTC’s Americans President Jason Mackenzie recently said that HTC is so far “very satisfied” with early sales of its new flagship smartphone. The company has its competition cut out for it, however, especially with the launch of the Galaxy S5 in the coming days. HTC has done a good job trying to push its message that the One (M8) is a first class premium handset, however, and we’ll see if that pays off in the company’s future earnings reports.
We’re curious, though. Did you already buy an HTC One (M8) online, or were you waiting for it to land in stores so you can try it for yourself first? The device seemed to have enough hype behind it, thanks to several leaks, ahead of its launch — but the One (M8) is also one of those phones that you really have to hold to feel how incredible it is.
