Retro City Rampage Already More Profitable on 3DS than Xbox 360

Retro City Rampage is the top-down, old-school GTA and 80s pop-culture love letter from Brian Provinciano. The game released in 2012 on the PC, PlayStation 3 and PS Vita platforms. In January of 2013, it hit the Xbox 360.

In February of this year, the title was finally released on the Nintendo 3DS. In the two months since its 3DS launch, Retro City Rampage‘s revenue on the portable Nintendo platform has already eclipsed the money it made on the Xbox 360 over more than a full year.

Provinciano shared that stat with a fellow Twitter user.

The Retro City Rampage gamers are playing on the Nintendo 3DS is not the same as the one we were playing on the PS Vita, PlayStation 3 and PC in 2012. It’s been updated to become Retro City Rampage DX, and you can see some of the changes added to the title in the video at the head of this clip.

Provinciano is already patching and updating the game.
