Galaxy S5 Pre-Orders Launch on Verizon Wireless

Starting today, Verizon customers can sign up to pre-order the Galaxy S5 ahead of its official release on April 11. Samsung’s latest flagship phone is available for $200 on-contract (actually $250 with a $50 rebate) or $600 off-contract from Verizon. The carrier is also offering a second Galaxy S5, ATIV SE or HTC One (M8) for free when you order the Galaxy S5 and activate a second two-year contract.

The Galaxy S5 is a nice bump over last year’s model with a faster Snapdragon processor, an improved 16-megapixel camera and more. It also features some impressive new technology including a built-in fingerprint reader with mobile payment support and a heart-rate monitor in the back. Its design is nothing to write home about, though if you liked the Galaxy S4 you probably won’t have any complaints.

We’ll have a full review of Samsung’s new flagship in the near future, though for now you can check out our hands-on video of the device as well as our top five favorite features for more information on the new smartphone.
