FTL: Advanced Edition Releasing April 3rd on PC, iPad

FTL: Faster Than Light is getting an upgrade. The game, currently available on PC, Mac and Linux for $9.99 is turning into FTL: Advanced Edition, and it’s also rolling out on the iPad for the same price.

The update will add new races, equipment, ships and scenarios. It’ll also add an even tougher difficulty, if that’s something you’re into.

If you, like me, already own FTL: Faster Than Light on Steam, you’ll have access to all of this new content in a free update. That update will roll out on April 3 and be applied automagically.

As the official FTL site indicates, “the iPad version of FTL will require an iPad version 2 or higher (iPad 1 is not supported).” The team has not mentioned bringing the game over to other tablets or mobile devices. Here are nine shots of the game as it appears on the iPad.

I’ve played a good bit of FTL since the game’s release a few years back. I adore it, and I can’t wait to jump back into the virtual commander’s seat once this new update drops.

Say goodbye to my wife for me.
