Sonic Lost World Gets Crazy Zelda Crossover DLC

Sonic Lost World might not have been the Nintendo-exclusive Sonic the Hedgehog revival we all wanted, but at least we can get some sweet DLC out of it guaranteed to rock your Nintendo fanboyism into the next decade. Sonic and The Legend of Zelda, together at last.

IGN has the scoop straight from SEGA showing off Sonic as he throws on Link’s classic green tunic and barrels around in a Hyrule that looks similar to the Hyrule Warriors spin-off being made by Tecmo Koei. All the Zelda bells and whistles come attached like Heart Containers, hidden items, Rupees, Gorons, and even a secret dungeon that Sonic can dive in and explore.

SEGA claims that inspiration comes from all the biggest 3D Legend of Zelda games: Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword. Even Link himself flies by and will wave to Sonic, lazily cheering him on while the sucker does the job of saving Hyrule for him.

The Legend of Zelda Zone DLC will be free, and it’s already here! I was not a fan of any demos I played of Sonic Lost World and never bought it, but this is the first time that DLC might be the main reason why I buy a game. I still need to play through The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword now that I think about it. Maybe it’s time to finally do that while new releases slow down through April and May.
