Half-Minute Hero 2 English Release Confirmed

The official Half-Minute Hero Twitter page has teased the American release Half-Minute Hero 2 in full English and confirmed that announcements are inbound. Platforms have not yet been revealed, but something tells me that the localizer isn’t going to want to distribute this thing on physical UMDs for the PSP.

Expect this to pop up on the PC, just like the original, and possibly on PlayStation Network, so you can throw it on a Vita.

For those who have never had the chance to play this game, Half-Minute Hero and its sequel take everything fun about classic Nintendo and Super Nintendo RPGs and cram it into small thirty second blocks. Our hero must save the world in that short amount of time, all while gaining time bonuses from the Time Goddess, exploring optional areas, completing quests, saving the girl, and taking branching paths.

It boils more down to a puzzle game than a JRPG, but it manages to be both a heart racing and heart warming little franchise at the same time.

The announcement also confirms an earlier Steam leak which saw Killing Floor 2, YAIBA Ninja Gaiden Z, and a whole handful of unannounced games that were unveiled for this first time. Does this also confirm the existence of every game on that list? I still want to know what Super Secret Project 1 is.

We’ll let you know about the official announcement when it comes.
