The wait is over for Galaxy Note 3 owners on AT&T. The carrier announced on Thursday that Android 4.4 KitKat is now officially available to download.
You’re probably more than familiar with what Android 4.4 KitKat offers at this point, but we’ll give you a quick rundown just in case. You can expect, typically, a quicker experience and user interface tweaks to the navigation bar, status bar and dialer applications. Additionally, KitKat includes a full-screen “immersive” mode, new emojis, better secured and more efficient power management controls. You can also now set a default text message app instead of relying on the one that ships with your phone. AT&T said the update should also improve the GPS on the Galaxy Note 3, and will also add support for wireless printing, quicker camera and music access from the home screen and more.
The carrier recommends charging your phone to at least 50 percent before applying Android 4.4 KitKat. As usual, we also recommend that you back up all of your data well in advance, just in case something goes awry. You can wait for the update to hit your phone, or manually check for it inside the settings menu.
