Earlier this month Samsung accidentally revealed its plans to launch a new family of tablets under the Galaxy Tab 4 name, and today we’re getting a first look at the smallest member of the lineup. The pictures come courtesy of @evleaks, who shared two press renders of the 7-inch slate today in black and white models.

The Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 is expected to offer a 1280 x 800-pixel display, a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of expandable storage, a 3-megapixel rear camera, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 4450mAh battery. The device runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, though it’s unclear if Samsung will include the new Magazine UX introduced with its line of Pro tablets or opt for a more traditional UI.
The 7-inch tablet is just part of the rumored Galaxy Tab 4 lineup, which also includes 10.1-inch and 8-inch devices. There’s still no word on when Samsung will unveil these new models, though we’re guessing an official announcement is right around the corner. If you’re looking for a solid entry-level tablet this may be the one for you, though if you prefer a high-end experience Samsung’s line of Galaxy Tab Pro slates are probably a better fit.
