If you’re on T-Mobile and have been eyeing Samsung’s new Galaxy S5 flagship handset, today marks the first time you can officially reserve one for yourself ahead of the launch. You can now pre-order the device on T-Mobile through one of two options. Y0u can opt to pay $0 down and $27.50 each month with a Simple Choice plan, or buy it outright without a contract for $660. The phone is expected to ship in April. Is it the right time to order? You may want to hold out just another 24 hours or so just to see what Samsung’s competitors have in store.
HTC has said it will unveil its new flagship smartphone, likely the HTC One (M8), tomorrow during a press event in New York City. That device is also expected to hit all of the major U.S. carriers, and recent rumors suggest it will go on sale immediately, though at first only in Verizon stores. Still, you should be able to pick one up from T-Mobile or anyone else online. If you wait until that announcement, you’ll be able to choose which device you think fits your lifestyle better.
We know what the Galaxy S5 offers – including IP67 water and dust resistance, a Snapdragon 801 processor, a 16-megapixel camera and more. We’re still a bit foggy on what the One (M8) will offer, but we’re expecting the same first-class all aluminum design that HTC introduced with the One and some similar high-end specs.
Still, if you’re excited for the Galaxy S5 then today is your day, and you can pre-order it now. We haven’t had a chance to review it yet, but we really love what it has to offer – including its unique heart rate monitor – when we saw it during Mobile World Congress 2014.
