BioWare has released a batch of ten new gorgeous screenshots of its upcoming fantasy RPG, Dragon Age: Inquisition. Powered by EA’s Frostbite 3 Engine, BioWare’s latest is shaping up to be one of the most beautiful games of its type in history.
The screenshots are compressed and don’t do the full scale much justice, but based on other media we’ve seen so far, you can imagine what they look like at max resolution. Great lighting and shadows, an amazing sense of scale, excellent magic and particle effects.
I’ve been wondering what the Frostbite 3 Engine was capable of when it wasn’t powering Battlefield or other war style games, and between Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare and Dragon Age: Inquisition, I’m sold this engine can be used for just about any genre. Now all we have to do is wait for the next Mass Effect.
Dragon Aqe: Inquisition is one of the most anticipated RPGs of the year, and the competition has become that much more scarce now that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been pushed into 2015. Between it, Dark Souls II, and The Elder Scrolls Online, I wonder which is going to walk away with the prize.
Dragon Age: Inquisition will be released for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC sometime in Q3 of 2014.
