Boost Mobile announced on Monday that it is now offering the LG Optimus F3, an LTE device, for $129.99 without any contract. The Optimus F3 originally launched last summer, when it hit Sprint on June 14 before appearing on T-Mobile in August. In other words yes, it’s an older device, but you’re still getting a pretty solid off-contract price all things considered.
The Optimus F3 is equipped with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, which is a few generations old now, and offers a 4-inch IPS display, a 5-megapixel camera, a 2,460mAh battery that promises up to 16 hours of talk time, a VGA front-facing camera, LG’s custom software interface with apps like QSlide 2.0 for multitasking and Quick Memo, NFC and the Swype keyboard pre-loaded. The phone also has a unique home button that glows different colors depending on the notification you receive, thanks to a built-in LED.
Boost Mobile is offering the Optimus F3 with its $55 monthly unlimited plan, which includes unlimited talk, text, voice and data. The plan provides LTE data until you consume up to 2.5GB, after which it falls down to much slower 3G speeds. If you’re on a budget, however, and don’t find yourself consuming that much data each month, the Optimus L3 paired with a Boost Mobile plan might be a good option.
