It’s probably the worst kept secret of the year, but HTC is about to launch its new smartphone on March 25, the HTC One (M8), also known as the All New HTC One. Until today we hadn’t heard official word from any of the carriers that it was about to launch, instead relying on a bunch of leaked materials to make our assumptions. Now, however, AT&T is teasing that the HTC One (M8) is coming imminently – and a fresh leak suggests the phone is set to launch on Verizon next week.
On its site, AT&T says: “We’re about to launch an amazing new HTC device.” Gee, what could it be? The new phone is expected to be a solid upgrade from last year’s HTC One, with a beefier Snapdragon 801 processor, a larger 5-inch 1080p display, expandable storage, a unique dual-camera setup and more. AT&T didn’t say how much the phone will cost or when it will exactly be available, but the teaser suggests it’s coming very soon. How soon? A new Verizon leak sets some better expectations.
A new teaser for the phone’s launch on Verizon surfaced recently, too. It shows the cover accessory that’s sprinkled with holes so that light-up notifications show through, but also reveals some launch details. The box says: “Get Ready to Hit Refresh, 3.25 at 1pm ET,” suggesting that the phone might be available from Verizon on March 25 at 1:00 p.m. EST. That seems pretty quick, can HTC beat Samsung’s Galaxy S5 to the market? We’ll know soon enough.
