The iPhone 6 is expected later this year, likely around September, and with the date approaching in about six months iPhone fans around the world are imagining what might be included. Artists like Arthur Reis and Ran Avni, who created the above video, are beginning to conceptualize what a new iPhone with a larger display might look like. While most rumors have pegged 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screens, these two created a video showing off an iPhone with a 4.5-inch screen.
The two artists imagine Apple making several enhancements, including a brand new design with a brushed aluminum look and a “better camera.” Overall, the concept is much more rounded than today’s iPhone 5s – such an approach might make a new iPhone more comfortable to hold, which is something that will no doubt be a concern if Apple increases the display size. Speaking of the display, the concept discusses a “curved sapphire screen,” though its curvature isn’t apparent in the video.
It’s a concept, so obviously this isn’t something that Apple has created. Still, we like where the artists are going with this idea. The aluminum, particularly, seems to fit better with Apple’s MacBook product design. Apple has already proven it has the ability to create truly first-class hardware, and we’re excited to see how close, or far off, some of these early concepts are once the real iPhone 6 is unveiled.
