I don’t care what you think about the studio’s lineup of games, it’s hard to suggest that Double Fine is incapable of making great video clips. Take this brand new announcement video for Costume Quest 2, for instance. It’s ridiculous in all the best ways!
Oh, Costume Quest 2 is coming, by the way. But that news really pales in comparison to the fact that Tim Schafer is back on his juicing diet. I watched Tim dive into the world of juice on Twitter, and it was a little like witnessing a small slice of humanity’s struggles in 140 character bursts.
And, I know, that one guy has a totally strange beard that’s only further intensified by the presence of a Charleston Chew.
Costume Quest is one of my favorite games from Double Fine. It’s a small and inexpensive adventure, but its charm and theme make it one title I always complete in the weeks leading up to Halloween. I will absolutely do the same for the sequel.
The sequel, by the way, is coming thanks to the folks at Midnight City. That video game publisher is also working with the Fullbright Company on bringing Gone Home to consoles.
Platform specifics for Costume Quest 2 were not announced. We imagine that will come down the line. For now, revel in knowing that you’ll be able to tangle with goblins once more as little kids in costumes.
