The first Sin City film came out all the way back in 2005, almost a decade ago. Since then, things have been relatively quiet in the Sin City camp. But on August 22, the sequel, primarily based on the second book in Frank Miller’s Sin City series, is finally set to hit theaters. And, not a moment too soon, the first full-length trailer is out. The same noir grit of the graphic novel is still in play, with a (mostly) whole new cast of characters, including the venerable dame, Eva Green.
If you enjoyed the first film, you’ll probably thoroughly enjoy the upcoming sequel. The movie is certainly packed with plenty of talent, including Josh Brolen, Ray Liotta, Jeremy Piven and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as newcomers to the series. The mood is dark and foreboding, with plenty of stylized shots to imbue that distinct graphic novel look. Directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller has had plenty of time to work on the sequel, so lets hope the wait was worth it.
