Irrational Games Released 75 Employees, Hosted Job Fair with 57 Companies

BioShock Infinite

The numbers are in from BioShock Infinite developer Irrational Games’ downsizing, and 75 people have been let go and are looking for a new place of employment. Founder Ken Levine reached out to other companies to help his former employees, calling them “some of the best game developers in the world.”

Hopefully, many of them have already found a new place of work. As part of the downsizing process, a job fair sponsored by Irrational Games saw 57 different video game companies come looking for new hired hands. Both studios from under the Take-Two Entertainment’s umbrella and external studios attended the job fair. Irrational Games’ great reputation among developers no doubt helped attract much of the crowd.

Levine and Irrational Games hosted the job fair to¬†“make sure that the people who are leaving have as much support as we can give them during this transition.”

Best of luck to all those who lost their jobs. Whether it’s your own indie projects or back into the rank and file of AAA development, we hope to see you again soon.
