Mobile companies are getting serious about bringing their software into our cars, and it looks like Daimler may have gotten a little overzealous in its anxiousness to get the ball rolling with Android.

While it is well-known that Apple’s iOS in the Car is nearing release, Google’s efforts have been slightly more disjointed. While some automakers have brought in various aspects of Android, there has been a definite lack of uniformity. A new job listing from Daimler, the parent company of Mercedes-Benz, may have outed the future of Android in our cars, however.

The job listing is looking for a software engineer to work on something called “Google Projected Mode.” The ad states that the goal of this project is to “seamlessly integrate” Android smartphones into the car’s head unit, but there is no mention if this will be done via a wired or wireless solution. The ad does make reference that the system will involve calls, messaging, media players and the all important navigation and that all of them will be handled through the vehicle’s navigation system.

As for which Mercedes-Benz vehicles this will be included with, the end of the ad states that it will be coming to “all Mercedes-Benz vehicles in all markets worldwide.” So don’t fear, it appears that this feature won’t be restricted to just the highest end cars produced by the luxury automaker.

If Mercedes-Benz is putting this much work into the unknown Google system, it’s a fairly safe bet that others are doing so as well. TechnoBuffalo is on the ground at the Geneva Motor Show all this week, so perhaps we will hear some more information about it before the week is out. Stay tuned.
