AT&T Brings Improved Data Connectivity to Disneyland and Walt Disney World

AT&T and Disney have teamed up to bring improved data connectivity to Disney properties throughout the U.S. As part of the network enhancements AT&T worked with Disney to install 350 small cells, 25 DAS systems, and 40 repeaters across the theme parks at Walt Disney World and Disneyland, and hotels in Hawaii, California, Florida, and Hilton Head, South Carolina.

Small cells help enhance coverage in offices, tunnels and really any odd places that just make it nearly impossible to get decent cell coverage with traditional cell towers.

How much improvement has been seen from these new deployed cells? Some areas have seen ten-fold increases of voice and data traffic on AT&T’s network. AT&T is not done yet, it’ll look to add more cells across these properties and improve the network further.

The video shows off some of the advantages of the updated network quality, particularly using Disney’s Apps while at the theme parks and resorts, where you can pull up wait times, park maps and even book dinner reservations.
