A picture of Huawei’s next set of phones has been leaked ahead of next week’s big mobile-focused event in Barcelona. And yes, the theme of gold is very prevalent, just as we saw in HTC’s supposed all new One handset. According to @evleaks, the Ascend G6 will come in four different colors: white, black, pink and gold. No other details about the upcoming device were shared, though there have been rumors here and there surrounding Huawei’s handset.
Early reports suggest the Ascend G6 will be a lesser Ascend P6, pairing down the specs and design to reach emerging markets. Rumors claim the device will come in at a svelte 7.5mm, sport a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera (5-megapixel front), microSD support and Android 4.2 with Huawei’d Emotion UI slathered on top. The screen will also allegedly sport a resolution of 960×540, though the actual size isn’t yet known.
Huawei this week already started teasing what it has in store for MWC, and even had the moxie to take a sly jab at Apple and Samsung. Huawei is plenty successful in its native China, but going after two of the world’s giants is pretty bold. It won’t be long until we get an official look at what the Ascend G6 has to offer at Mobile World Congress next week.
