At long last, it has happened. Five months after calling it my highlight of TGS 2013 and thirteen years since starring in his own franchise, Strider Hiryu finally has a new action packed outing to add to his small, yet excellent, library of games.
Capcom has a new launch trailer showing off exactly why you should be playing Strider this very instant. No more waiting and no more excuses, especially for fans. This is a once in a generation release in a series that Capcom only pulls out when its fans need a serious nostalgia boost.
The newest Strider is the culmination of Metroid-style exploration and the fast paced arcade action of the original two games. Never have the two been so perfectly matched. As far as Capcom reboots go, this clearly leans towards the quality of Bionic Commando ReArmed as opposed to some of its lesser efforts in recent years.
Don’t take my word for it 100 percent just yet. My copy is downloading as we speak, and you can expect my thoughts on it in the coming week. Keep an eye out.
Strider is now available for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
