Assassin’s Creed IV’s Freedom Cry Standalone Story Gets Gameplay Trailer

It’s entirely possible that Ubisoft’s “Freedom Cry” DLC for Assassin’s Creed IV didn’t sell up to expectations as a piece of extra content. The publishing company has elected to release the campaign as its own standalone game now, perhaps to recoup some potentially missed cash.

That standalone release doesn’t come without an odd catch, though. Freedom Cry is only available on a digital basis for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC platforms. It’s selling for $9.99.

This story takes place 15 years after the adventures in Black Flag, and it features First Mate Adewale as the freshly trained assassin turned hero.

Those who played the DLC as an extra bit of content within Black Flag indicate that the main quest here will take most gamers roughly three hours to finish. If you track down everything, there might be six or seven hours to play here.

Do you have any intentions to nab this standalone content?
