This morning HTC announced a press event that will take place in London and in New York City, which TechnoBuffalo will be attending. We expect the company to announce its next flagship during that time, and it’s currently being referred to as the HTC M8. The device, the successor to the HTC One, has leaked seemingly dozens of times now. However, most of the leaks have shown a silver model of the phone. Today, we see an alternative option.

@evleaks posted a picture of a black M8 inside of a case on Twitter today. The case accessory doesn’t appear to be anything special, though we do dig the black body that peaks out inside of it. HTC released the original One in silver and black, followed by gold, blue and red models, and it’s likely we’ll see this option hit the market at the same time as the silver hue.
Also of note is the user interface, which appears to be Sense 6. We can see the weather widget up top, flanked from the bottom by news (note the ESPN logo on the top image) and what appears to be a social network portal and another news area (note the Huffington Post logo). Also, we see the on-screen touch controls, instead of t he hardware buttons on the HTC One. The BoomSound front-facing speakers are present, as they have been in all other earlier leaks. We also expect a dual-camera setup on the back, though that isn’t present in this image.
If HTC unveils the device during its March 25 press conference, and we suspect it will, then the new phone may hit the market shortly thereafter, in either late March or sometime in April. We can’t wait to learn more about it.
