HTC just announced press events in New York and in London on March 25 where the company will introduce its new flagship smartphone that will succeed the HTC One. Several leaks have suggested the current codename for the device is the HTC M8, though the final name has not yet been unveiled. The press invite doesn’t give us a hint toward what it might be called, either.

Based on the leaks, we’re expecting a larger display, a faster Snapdragon 800 processor and a unique dual-camera setup on the back. Our best guess is the cameras will allow you to snap a photo and then adjust the focus later, though they may have a different use entirely.

We’re also expecting Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box and a boatload of improvements to Sense, HTC’s custom user interface, in Sense 6. HTC is also likely to include its front-facing stereo BoomSound speakers, an IR blaster and a wide-angle front-facing camera, based on the leaks we’ve already seen.

Last year, HTC introduced the One MiniĀ after it released the HTC One. Plenty of rumors have suggested that may change this time around, and that it’s possible we’ll see the new HTC M8 Mini announced at the same time that HTC reveals its new flagship. The device will allegedly pack a smaller display and a lower-powered processor than HTC’s flagship, though will maintain the same industrial design.

HTC’s event kicks off at 11:00 a.m. EST on March 25, and TechnoBuffalo will be there covering the news live. Mark your calendars now!
