If you’ve been on the fence about picking up a Google Chromecast, Amazon has marked down the price to a point that may push you over to the side of an owner.

The Chromecast has been sitting at $35 since it first released last year, and while that price hasn’t exactly been one that would break the bank, it might still make some folks hesitate. Well, you may now have five more reasons to consider it.

Amazon has marked the Chromecast down to $30, a 14 percent discount off of its normal price. While not a gigantic discount, it might still be enough to motivate some consumers. There is no mention on the page if this is a permanent price change or a temporary special, so you may be better served by acting quickly just in case. If you’re in one of the states that is still tax free when it comes to Amazon purchases, and you happen to be an Amazon Prime Member to score some free two day shipping, you could be enjoying this device by the weekend.

While the Chromecast still has some large holes in its support – i.e. no native support for Amazon Prime Instant Video – it is still a handy little device to have around, and at this price it will be hard to beat. And hey, you might as well get in now as more support is sure to be on the way since Google finally released the Chromecast SDK recently.
