Nintendo has announced that it will follow up on NES Remix with a full blown sequel called NES Remix 2. During its Nintendo Direct debut, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata revealed the game with several of the classics it remixes, like Princess Peach going toe-to-toe with Bowser in the closing battle of Super Mario Bros. 3.
Other games include Ice Hockey, Wario’s Woods, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, Dr. Mario, Kirby’s Adventure, Kid Icarus, Punch-Out, Metroid, and NES Open Tournament Golf.
In the spirit of the Year of Luigi, Mr. Iwata emphasized that the mini game titled Super Luigi Bros. will be turned into a full fledged game. Mario’s taller younger brother blasts though every Super Mario Bros. level except he is running to the left just like in the World 1-1 mini game in the first NES remix. He also brings his longer and slower jump to the NES classic. I don’t think my brain can handle it!
NES Remix 2 is scheduled to be released on April 25th, so be sure to keep an eye out for the next game in Nintendo’s exciting new series
