LG wowed us with the G2 last year, and now the company may be preparing to launch a scaled-down version of the flagship handset. The rumored LG G2 Mini passed through its Bluetooth certification last week with the model number LG-D620.

The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) doesn’t care about much besides the device’s antennas, but we already have a sense of what to expect from the G2 Mini. According to an earlier leak, the upcoming handset will offer a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and a 4.7-inch 1080p display. The device will reportedly run Android 4.4 KitKat with LG’s own software on top.

If these rumors prove true, LG will join Sony in releasing a mini flagship phone that doesn’t sacrifice on specs. There’s still no guarantee this device will ever see the light of day, but with Bluetooth certification taken care of it may not be long before the G2 Mini is unveiled. LG’s main attraction this month at Mobile World Congress is expected to be the G Pro 2 phablet, but we’ll keep an eye out for this smaller handset as well.
