2013 indie darling Gone Home has sold over 250,000 copies, according to a report from Joystiq.

Of those sold, 80 percent sold via Steam and 50,000 copies of the game sold in the first month of release, according to Fullbright Company founder Steve Gaynor.

This is a solid number for a completely independent game built by a team of only four people, even more so considering the short play time of the game versus its relatively high price tag – about three hours for $20.

We reviewed the game positively when it came out this summer, and felt strongly enough to name it one of our top 15 games of 2013.

As Joystiq notes, whether you consider Gone Home a game or not, it’s doing well at the register and hopefully that means we’ll be seeing another game from Fullbright company before too long.
