Titanfall Minimum PC Requirements Announced

Titanfall - 5

If you have something you referred to as a gaming PC anytime in the last seven years, you should be able to play Titanfall.

Respawn Entertainment’s Vince Zampella tweeted out this week the minimum requirements for running the PC version of Titanfall.

  • 64-bit Windows 7, 8, or 8.1
  • AMD Athlon X2 2.8GHz or Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz
  • 4GB RAM
  • 512MB VRAM – Radeon HD 4770 or GeForce 8800GT

Those are pretty typical minimum requirements for current PC games. The GeForce 8800GT was released back in Nov. 2006, so even old gaming PCs should be able to run the game. Pulling 30 frames per second at 1280 x 720 on lowest detail should be doable.

Along with word that Titanfall‘s beta will not require a pre-order, and word from Zampella that beta codes will not be region-locked, this should open the game up to a very wide audience of gamers all over the world. The only requirement is that the beta and, later, the game will be available only through Electronic Arts’ Origin service, which is enough to put off some more stubborn players. Ironically, Titanfall runs on an optimized version of Valve’s Source engine.

If that doesn’t put you off, though, the beta is coming soon and your computer can probably run it. According to Valve’s Jan. 2014 hardware survey, more than half of users surveyed have PCs with minimum requirements to run the game at minimum or better settings.
