One day after Microsoft confirmed that Square Enix’s Murdered: Soul Suspect was destined for the Xbox One, Sony has fired back with its own announcement of next-gen aspirations. Quantum Conundrum developer Airtight Games’ latest is destined for the PlayStation 4, and we have a new story trailer to celebrate.
Detective Ronan O’Connor has seen better days. He’s dead. Deader than the rest of the murder victims’ whose cases he had solved over a long successful career. Now he must track down a killer unlike any other he has faced before… his own.
To add to his complicated affair, the only person who can see him is a young punk girl whose mother has been missing for several days. She won’t help him unless he solves her disappearance as well. Sounds like a bad subplot to a cliche Hollywood movie, but I hope Airtight Games makes it work. I hate kids in movies.
Murdered: Soul Suspect promises a challenging story as well as a crime scene investigation system similar to other adventure games that have popped up in recent memory. Its plot might sound a lot like Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, but the two couldn’t tell the same story with a bigger difference in style.
Murdered: Souls Suspect will be released in June for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
