While we still don’t know how Respawn and EA will be handling beta entries for Titanfall, we at least have confirmation that it won’t require pre-ordering the game.
That’s how a lot of the betas roll, after all. You pre-order a game to snag a chance at playing its unfinished form a bit early. One Twitter user asked Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella whether or not pre-orders would be needed in order to hop into the beta.
The answer? Negative.
@VinceZampella what's the story Vincent, preorder or not? How the Frankenstein do we get into thus BETA? Titanfall!!

Zampella didn’t explain what would get users a shot at the beta in the tweet, of course. That information will likely be held close for just a little while longer as EA and Respawn sort out the beta spawning logistics.
As someone who doesn’t like pre-ordering games, especially in digital form, this is good news. I’d rather not shell out my hard earned bucks just for a chance to play a game I might not be buying anyways.
Will you try to get into the Titanfall beta whenever it opens? The full game is set to drop on March 11th, 2014 on the Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC platforms.
