Pebble Smartwatch Appstore Now Live With More Than 1,000 Apps and Watchfaces (Updated)

Just last week we brought you an early peek at the Pebble Appstore for iOS, and as promised it’s now officially live for all to use. We loved what was already available when we first had a chance to check it out, and now it has been populated with an even larger selection of apps and watchfaces for you to choose from. In fact, Pebble said there are more than 1,000 watchfaces and apps for you to dig through today, and that number is only growing right now.

We strongly stand by our original statement that the appstore adds more value than ever to the Pebble smartwatch (and the new Pebble Steel for that matter). While there have been third party solutions for a while now, no other smartwatch maker has such a robust offering of free high quality apps to choose from. If you own a Pebble, we suggest taking a look at some of our favorite apps, including Pebble Cards and Foursquare, as well as some excellent watch faces such as Futura Weather and YWeather.

As we already discussed, there are several categories to dig through and apps that can match anyone’s use-case for a smartwatch. The appstore is free, so be sure to check it out. Pebble says an Android appstore is coming “very, very soon” but that it’s still working on some fine tuning.

Update: Pebble tells us that the app has been submitted and was supposed to be live earlier today, though there are some issues on Apple’s end preventing publication. It should be available very soon.
