HTC’s follow-up to its flagship One handset will likely be one of the first major smartphones of 2014, and today the device got a possible launch window from trusted tipster @evleaks. If the Twitter leakster has his facts right, the HTC One 2—allegedly codenamed the M8—will be unveiled next month at a press event in New York.

We still don’t know much about the HTC M8, though it’s expected to be a pretty iterative update with improved specs and a slightly larger display, though we hope there are larger enhancements in store. Several leaked cases for the device suggest it could feature a fingerprint sensor like the HTC One Max, while @evleaks claims the “M8 looks strikingly like the M7.”
Other rumored changes to the HTC M8 include on-screen capacitive buttons and the decision to offer four colors at launch. We won’t know anything for sure until HTC makes an official announcement, and it looks like that may not happen for over a month. Still, there’s sure to be plenty of new rumors surrounding the device over the next few weeks. Stay tuned.
