The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past now on Wii U’s Virtual Console

One of the Super Nintendo’s greatest classics has now been made available for purchase on the Wii U. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is up for grabs in the Virtual Console section of the eShop for $7.99.

If you’re like me and you already own the Wii Virtual Console version of A Link to the Past, you can take the same double dipping path I intend to. If you already have the game on your Wii U thanks to the Wii Menu Channel, you can simply pay $1.50 to upgrade to the Wii U version. That’ll get you GamePad play, save states and Miiverse access for the game.

Both features are worth the price, in my mind.

This is probably one of my favorite games of all time. I can remember playing through it for the second or third go around during an ice storm in the early 90s. That storm kept me home for days on end, and this game saw me through the ensuing boredom.

Who hasn’t played The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past yet?
