Sly Cooper is getting a theatrical treatment. Rainmaker Entertainment, the same production company tasked with bringing the Ratchet & Clank franchise to movies screens in 2015, is now doing the same for Sly and the gang in 2016.
There’s a new trailer for the freshly announced flick, and it features the regular trio of Sly, Bentley and Murray. The whole thing is being directed and written by Kevin Munroe, the same talent behind the TMNT CG movie from 2007.
With this and the Ratchet & Clank flicks announced, we’re starting to wonder what Sony’s goal is here. Are they looking to appeal to the nostalgic nature in aging gamers with these now classic franchises in order to bring in some movie sales, or are they aiming to turn moviegoers into gamers? Why not both?
What do you think of the trailer at the head of this post? Is Sly Cooper something you want to see in theaters?
