Following Samsung’s release of Android 4.4 KitKat for the Galaxy Note 3, owners of the smartphone noticed that the device no longer worked properly with third-party accessories. There was a bit of concern that Samsung was trying to force consumers onto its own devices, though that’s not the case at all. Samsung recently responded to a request for comment from TechnoBuffalo and shed some light on the situation.
“We have currently identified a software compatibility issue with the Galaxy Note 3 update to Android 4.4 (KitKat) and select 3rd party accessories,” a spokesperson told TechnoBuffalo. “A software update will be available shortly. We are committed to offering a diverse and reliable mobile experience for all customers, providing continued support and solutions for any issues that arise with product updates for both Samsung manufactured and third-party accessories.”
Samsung did not provide a timeline for the release, though the good news is that a fix is coming. So don’t throw out your third-party cases and docks just yet, hopefully a solution hits your phone soon.
