Since its Dec. 17, 2013 release – just over a month in the PlayStation store – Minecraft has sold over one million copies on PlayStation 3.
Just in case you thought Minecraft was done printing money, or something.
“It’s crazy considering the game was released just before Christmas last year. We are super grateful for the support and we are very thankful for your dedication,” wrote Mojang’s Daniel Kaplan in a blog post on the company’s site.
GamesIndustry International notes that the game has sold, so far, 10 million copies on Xbox 360 and 14 million on PC. 25 million copies of Minecraft sold, and a million of them in just the last month. And that’s not even counting Minecraft: Pocket Edition, which has sold over 10 million.
Minecraft (and its continuing influence over other genres, most likely) is here to stay.
