Some of the best and brightest phones might be introduced at Mobile World Congress in February. However, even before companies start donning their new wares, Motorola is trying to entice new customers to buy its excellent Moto X, which you can finally purchase with wood backs for an extra $25. On Jan. 27, for an hour only, the company will take $100 off its Moto X between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. ET while supplies last. That brings the off-contract price down to just $299, which isn’t a bad deal at all.
We’ve repeatedly sung the praises of Motorola’s Moto X, and while the device is quickly aging, it’s still a solid option for looking for an off-contract handset. You can’t beat a $100 discount, but if you happen to miss out on the offer, Motorola said it will give consumers at the one hour window $70 off any Moto X without contract until Feb. 14 (Valentine’s Day), which brings the price down to $329—still, not a bad price.
Motorola held a similar discount on the Moto X before, but its servers were unable to handle the demand. Hopefully next week’s fire sale all goes according to plan.
