Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have dropped a brand new launch trailer in honor of next week’s release of Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition. The game will be available on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One starting Jan. 28.
There are rumblings that the Xbox One version of Tomb Raider isn’t up to speed with the PlayStation 4 flavor. Crystal Dynamics Executive Producer Scott Amos confirmed that the PS4 version of the game runs at 1080p and 60fps, though he did not announce details in the same sequence for the Xbox One edition. Earlier, Amos indicated that both versions checked in at at least 30fps and 1080p.
Logic dictates that if the PS4 version is confirmed at 1080p and 60fps, the Xbox One variant gets the lesser specs.
Does that matter to you?
As I said in my Tomb Raider review last year for TechnoBuffalo, I loved the game. This Definitive Edition sort of has me tempted to pick it up once more just for something to play on one of my new consoles.
Did you miss Tomb Raider when it dropped in 2013? Are you considering this brand new edition for purchase?
