Earlier today, we covered a letter that was filed with the California Attorney General’s office. The letter was a draft that was eventually sent out to T-Mobile customers who were the victim of an attack on one of the carrier’s suppliers. TechnoBuffalo reached out to T-Mobile and can confirm that private information was obtained recently.
“Some personal information of a relatively small number of individuals was accessed on a system operated by Decisioning Solutions, a T-Mobile vendor,” T-Mobile told TechnoBuffalo in a statement. “As soon as the unauthorized access was discovered, measures were taken to secure the system. Affected individuals have been notified.”
The carrier did not say how many accounts were affected, though it appears the hack occurred back in November at the latest. The company did not disclose any additional information on the topic to TechnoBuffalo.
