Motorola Gallery App Now Offered As Standalone App, Receives UI Tweak

Motorola on Thursday introduced a standalone version of its Gallery app to the Play Store, rounding up a terrific family of experiences migrated over from the Moto X. The Google owned company had previously released its Camera, Assist, Active Display and Touchless Control apps through Google Play, making them much easier to update. The Gallery app itself isn’t a huge deal, though it did receive a small redesign to celebrate its arrival. For now, the app is only supported on Motorola’s family of handsets, including the Moto G, Moto X and its Verizon DROID devices.

The Gallery app’s facelift includes a lighter color palette, larger thumbnails and a design with faster, simpler navigation. Functionally, the experience should be similar to what Moto X users were used to from the get-go; it just looks and performs a little differently. Aside from requiring a Motorola device, you’ll also need to be updated to Android 4.4 KitKat in order for the app to work.

You can download the Moto Gallery app from the Play Store, and we’ve included a link in the source below.
