Square Enix Trademarks Seeds of Salvation in America

Dragon Quest VII

Two months after it mysteriously trademarked Seeds of Salvation in Japan, Square Enix has gone ahead and done the same for American shores. Siliconera found the trademark, leading us to believe that the company has an announcement to make in the near future.

Once again, this is most likely leaning towards a Dragon Quest release thanks to the alliteration in the title, although which one remains unknown. Plenty of speculation can be found all across the Internet about which one it is, but I will stick to my guns and say that this is the localization of the Dragon Quest VII remake on the Nintendo 3DS.

Not only does the title fall in line with the game’s plot of rebuilding a world with “seeds” of hope and “salvation,” but the timing is also right. Now that Bravely Default is just around the corner on the Nintendo 3DS, Square Enix can begin hyping up its next big JRPG release. Can’t come soon enough, because I have heard nothing but great things about this remake.

I’m still not certain about Luminaries of the Legendary Line, but I think a smartphone Dragon Quest game is still likely. That trademark has not yet appear in America.

Stay tuned for a potential Square Enix announcement in the coming months.
