A new Chinese company established by a former Oppo executive wants to buddy up with Android-based CyanogenMod. The company, OnePlus, announced on Wednesday that it has plans to release a flagship smartphone during the second quarter of this year with an “enhanced” version of CyanogenMod out of the box. Dubbed OnePlus One, the device is promised to sport the best components on the market, and feature a design only rivaled by Apple’s iPhone. The company revealed the news in a Facebook post using a picture that plainly says “Best Specs.”
Other details about the device are unclear at the moment, but the company is clearly confident in its abilities. Since the “best components and 2014 flagship specs” are promised, we’re expecting a pretty spectacular device, with a big, high resolution display, fast processor and maybe even some other surprises.
Now that OnePlus is comfortable teasing what’s on the horizon, hopefully we’ll hear more detailed information soon.
