Get ready to take one step further down the remake rabbit hole: Resident Evil 4 is getting another release.
Resident Evil 4 is launching on PC in an ultimate HD edition on Feb. 28, according to a press release sent out by Capcom.
Priced at $19.99, the game will run in high definition at 60 frames per second (depending on your computer, of course). Capcom has also added Steam support in, with achievements, cloud saves, trading cards, leaderboards, and controller support. Also included is all previously released bonus content, including the “Separate Ways” epilogue.
Resident Evil 4 was also released on last-gen consoles a couple years back, and it held up surprisingly well both in terms of art design and mechanics. The textures are starting to look a bit outdated in this rendition, but with a fancy new HD edition running on PC, I could imagine an industrious fan cranking up the textures with an unauthorized mod.
Either way, I’ll probably end up picking this up when it drops in five weeks – I already own the game on at least four other platforms already. It’d be a shame to leave this one behind.
