A second case for the HTC M8 leaked online today, again showing some mysterious cutouts. The latest photos comes from Sonny Dickson, who made a name for himself last year by publishing photos of leaked Apple components.
Just like last time, this HTC M8 case features the larger cutout that was standard with last year’s HTC One, presumably where the camera will sit, along with two more unexplained holes near the top of the device. It’s possible the holes could represent a small fingerprint scanner and speaker, or perhaps one for a microphone, though we can’t be sure.
Based on earlier leaks, the HTC M8 is expected to pack a 5-inch 1080p display, Qualcomm’s quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, and run Android 4.4 KitKat with Sense 6 on top. We’re also hoping to see a similar aluminum design and some powerful speakers. It shouldn’t be long now until the new device is unveiled, but for now there’s no word on when the Taiwanese company will make its official announcement.
