AT&T just started rolling out the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update to the HTC One X+, which includes an update to Sense 5. The update hit HTC’s international version of the One X+ months ago, so we’re really not quite sure what took the carrier so long to approve the software.
One X+ owners should appreciate the update in any case. HTC recently confirmed that it will stop updating the phone after Android 4.2.2, which means the device won’t ever see the latest Android 4.4 KitKat build — unless you’re willing to tweak around with custom ROMs. The push also includes fixes to NFC and an update to AT&T’s own Address Book.
The update should be rolling out over the air now, though you can manually check for it by visiting your phone’s settings menu. As always, we recommend backing up all of your data beforehand just in case.
